They also have high power motor controllers which are at or exceeding power class of a big hybrid aircraft.

Indeed, I would not trust hobbyking batteries as far as I can throw them. They are made to be cheap, not reliable.
There are many sources of LiFe batteries out there, and some of the higher quality brands I've seen in the hobby market are Team Orion (swiss company, but I'm not exactly sure where they're manufactured) and ThunderPower.
There are many suppliers for those 2 brands, and I'm sure their products can be obtained from the manufacturers directly.
